I stated at our AGM last year that I would not be standing for election to the CA Executive at this year’s AGM which is being held on Monday, 25 November 2019.
I have very much enjoyed the role notwithstanding the large work load, however after five years as Chairman and several years
before that as a Committee Member it is now prudent both for myself and the Community that I step down and encourage others
onto the Committee.
Having served on several company boards I have always believed that a fundamental task for any Chairman is to put in place a succession plan for the Committee and the Chair. We have attempted to do this over the past several years however, I for one do understand that Members who have the requisite education and experience are reluctant to once again take on such a role having retired from a senior level corporate or public service role.
This Community deserves to get the best we can provide to guide and manage what is now a large enterprise comprising some 5,500 residents, with annual expenditures and revenues of around $4m each. I urge all Members and in particular CA Representatives who have the requisite experience, to seriously consider nominating for our Executive. Having said this the existing Executive has done a sterling job this year and I hope they will re-nominate. If you believe that you have the time and experience then please
contact Jo McGoldrick our CA Executive Assistant firstname.lastname@example.org to nominate when the time comes.
