Following the AGM held on Monday, 25 November 2019, there was a short meeting of the newly appointed Executive Team and I am pleased to advise you that the Team agreed to the appointment of David Foster as Treasurer, Ken Preece as Secretary, with me chosen as the new Chairperson.
On my part I feel both humbled and privileged to have been appointed to this position and I look forward to serving you in this capacity over the
next 12 months.
Let me start by expressing gratitude to my predecessor Don McKenzie, who served as your Chairman for six years but has now retired from the Executive. Due to the hard work of Don and others, your new Executive is very well placed to further advance our community as a much sought after residential location of choice. Thank you also to the previous Executive and all others who served on sub-committees or special project groups this past year. Owner engagement is critical to the success of BP and we appreciate their contribution.
My hope is that you will see in the Executive Team, people who listen, who are approachable and are fair and reasonable in their dealings with members of the community. Much of the appeal of our community is the commonality by which we seek to operate our network of strata communities. At the same time we are part of a changing world and we need to be progressive in our thinking about the challenges of modern strata living.
As Chairperson I have a strong belief in the value of teamwork and the recognition of a shared contribution. To reflect that approach, from this issue of the Breakfast Pointer forward, there will be a shorter Message from the Chair, accompanied by a more extensive Executive Team report. Our report will outline our views on community issues, our progress in dealing with agreed matters, plus our plans to execute various works programs on your behalf. The Executive Team report follows.
In closing, thank you again for putting your trust in our new Executive Team and for providing us with this opportunity to serve our community.
